“It’s great to see this level of participation in study abroad by PC students, and I commend the Center for Global Education staff, my predecessors as dean, and other campus stakeholders for their efforts and great work in supporting PC study abroad students. As I’m relatively new to PC, I’m happy to be part of such a strong study abroad culture. As dean of global education, I look forward to expanding opportunities for global education for PC students and enhancing their study abroad experiences,” said Christian Wilwohl, dean of global education at Providence College. Wilwohl joined PC as dean and head of the College’s Center for Global Education this past summer.
The Open Doors report showed PC with 425 students who spent a full semester studying abroad during the 2018-2019 academic year. That amounted to slightly more than 44% of the College’s junior class. The study ranks PC as 24th in the country for undergraduate participation in study abroad programs. In the Master’s Colleges & Universities category, PC is ranked 16th for total study abroad students.
