PROVIDENCE COLLEGE HIRES MIRLEN A. MAL AS SENIOR ASSOCIATE VICE PRESIDENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES

PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND, FEBRUARY 7, 2022: Providence College (PC) today announced the hire of Mirlen (“Mead-leng”) A. Mal as the College’s new senior associate vice president of human resources. Mirlen will join PC on February 28th from Curry College in Milton, MA where she served as the vice president of human resources for the past six-plus years. There, she oversaw a staff of seven in managing all aspects of the human resources function, including the development and/or revision of policies and procedures, performance evaluations, professional development and staff training, benefits management, on-boarding of new employees, the management of collective bargaining agreements, and more.
Mirlen has over 13 years of human resources administration experience. Prior to joining Curry College, Mirlen worked in several positions at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI. These included assistant vice president of human resources, assistant university counsel, assistant general counsel, and director of labor relations.
She has served as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator for employees, an Equal Employment Opportunity coordinator, and Coordinator of the Age Discrimination Act of 1975.
Mirlen is a graduate of the University of California/Riverside, where she earned a BS in Business Administration (and played basketball on the women’s varsity team). She holds an MBA from California State Polytechnic University, and earned her J.D. from the Syracuse University College of Law.
