Jill Parrett Named Director of Environmental Health & Safety
PROVIDENCE, RI, JULY 20, 2020: Providence College (PC) announced today that they have hired Jill A. Parrett as director of environmental health & safety. Ms. Parrett will oversee the College’s compliance with environmental regulations related to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH), the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) and the Narragansett Bay Commission (NBC). She will also oversee College staff with regard to indoor air quality assessments, lead paint abatement, mold mitigation and remediation programs, and asbestos abatement projects.
Prior to joining PC, Ms. Parrett was an environmental health and safety specialist with FM Global at their Research Campus (Glocester, RI) and Research Center (Norwood, MA). Earlier, she worked for Ocean State Power in Burrillville in a similar capacity. She began her career as a geologist with EA Engineering, Inc.
Ms. Parrett earned her B.S. degree in Earth Sciences/Geology with a minor in Environmental Science from Boston University. She also holds a M.S. in Environmental Health from the University of St. Francis. She is certified as a Professional Geologist and Hazardous Material Manager, and is also a Certified Safety Professional.
