PROVIDENCE COLLEGE ANNOUNCES THREE NEW TRUSTEES
(Providence, R.I.) – Providence College (PC) recently announced the unanimous election of three new members to its Board of Trustees.

Duane Bouligny, ’94,’21H, returns to the board as he previously served as a Trustee from 2011 to 2020. Mr. Bouligny is a managing director in the Leveraged Finance group with Wells Fargo’s Corporate and Investment Banking. Based in San Francisco, he has clients across the United States and manages the Specialized Industries Debt Capital Markets team, which structures and originates loan syndications and high-yield financings, primarily for the gaming industry. He has also managed teams covering the energy, forest products, and beverage industries for Wells Fargo investment banking. Prior to his position at Wells Fargo, Mr. Bouligny worked for Sumitomo Bank in San Francisco and NationsBank in Florida. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from PC in 1994, an honorary degree in 2021 and currently resides in Greenbrae, California.

James Chirico, Jr. ’80,was president and chief executive officer of Avaya, a multinational technology company, from 2017- 2022. He previously served as Chief Operating Officer and Global Sales Leader of Avaya, where he was responsible for sales operations, human resource management, and global business processes. Prior to this, Mr. Chirico spent many years at Seagate Technology, a designer, manufacturer, and marketer of hard disc drives, where he worked for nine years, leading 50,000 employees. He began his career at IBM in 1980, progressing through line leadership and corporate assignment positions to become a Site General Manager and WW Manufacturing Leader. Originally from New York, IBM led Mr. Chirico and his wife to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and they also spent eight years living in Singapore. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from PC in 1980 and currently resides in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Meghan Lyon, ’89, is a volunteer philanthropic advisor. Ms. Lyon was Director of Major Gifts and a Fundraising Executive for New York-Presbyterian Hospital, a member of the Board of Trustees of Harding Land Trust (New Vernon, N.J.), and on the Board of Trustees for the Morristown Memorial Hospital Foundation (Morristown, N.J.). She received a Bachelor of Arts in humanities from PC in 1989 and currently lives in New Vernon, New Jersey.
Founded in 1917, Providence College is the only college or university in the United States administered by the Dominican Friars and has an undergraduate enrollment of approximately 4,100 students. Providence College has ranked first among regional colleges and universities in the North for the last three years according to U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Colleges.”
