Providence College Professor Awarded National Science Foundation Grant
Dr. Jonathan Richardson, Assistant Professor of Biology, Will Receive $125,310 for Research
Sept. 20, 2017, Providence, RI – Providence College today announced that Dr. Jonathan Richardson, assistant professor of biology, has received a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for $125,310. With this grant, Richardson and an undergraduate student will spend time studying urban ecology and landscape genetics in rats.
The NSF made 30 awards based on 136 proposals reviewed in this competition. Unlike other types of NSF awards which focus on supporting research centers and partnerships among institutions, these focus on giving individual researchers the foundation for collaborations that span their entire careers.
Founded in 1917, Providence College is the only college or university in the United States administered by the Dominican Friars.
